Mission Statement
Across the Grand Strand region, countless residents burdened by treatment-resistant depression and trauma are left without adequate care. Guided by our faith, we glorify God by providing under-resourced individuals with access to innovative mental health treatments that bring healing, dignity, and renewed hope.
The problem we are solving
In Horry County and surrounding communities, an estimated 30% of residents—more than 120,000 people—experience Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). Of those affected, approximately 10% suffer from Treatment-Resistant Depression (TRD), representing nearly 12,000 individuals in our community.
Alarmingly, at least 30% of this population is either uninsured or effectively under-insured for mental health services, leaving roughly 4,000 residents without adequate access to the care they need.
Is Living Water a 501c3 and does it have any operating expenses?
Living Water is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization governed entirely by a volunteer board of directors. Our only operating expenses are standard accounting and legal fees required to maintain compliance. This structure allows us to operate as a “pass-through” organization, meaning that, apart from these minor compliance costs, every dollar received through donations and grants goes directly to individuals in need.

At Living Water Mental Health Fund we exist to ensure that no one is denied healing because of financial hardship. Guided by our faith and a commitment to human dignity, we provide access to innovative mental health treatments for individuals burdened by treatment-resistant depression and trauma, especially those who are under-resourced, uninsured, or underinsured.
Through our Healing Without Barriers program, we offer substantial financial hardship scholarships for individuals and families earning up to 300% of the South Carolina Federal Poverty Level (FPL). These scholarships dramatically reduce the cost of care, but for many, a critical funding gap still remains. Your generosity helps close that gap.
Donations directly fund the remaining cost of treatment, making life-changing care possible for those who would otherwise be left without options. In some cases, this gap is the entire treatment cost, for others, it is as simple as a co-pay. Every gift restores access, renews hope, and affirms that healing is not a privilege, it is a calling.
As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all contributions are fully tax-deductible and immediately applied to expanding access to care across the Grand Strand region.
You may designate your donation to support veterans, financially disadvantaged individuals, or broader Strategic Projects, which include treatment scholarships, educational initiatives, and essential operational needs such as medical equipment and staff training.
