Stronger Together: How Radial and Living Water Are Expanding Access to Care

Expanding our reach, preserving our mission, and serving more people with life-changing mental health care in Horry County and beyond.

May 1, 2025

Greetings, neighbor,

I’m excited to share some significant updates about Living Water Mental Health BRAIN Treatment Center—changes that will allow us to broaden our services, reach more people, and continue our mission to increase access to groundbreaking mental health care for everyone, regardless of insurance status.

Since launching Living Water in November 2024, we’ve provided over $350,000 in financial assistance, treated a number of patients, and expanded access by securing contracts with major insurers including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Medicare, Cigna, TriCare, and the VA. The results have been deeply encouraging: approximately 80% of our patients have experienced remission from depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders.

As I reflect on this progress, it's clear that Living Water has already made a meaningful impact by increasing access to innovative treatments through expanded insurance coverage. Yet, this milestone also underscored two urgent needs: first, scaling our operations to meet the growing demand among insured patients, and second, continuing to support uninsured and underinsured individuals who still face steep financial barriers to care.

My commitment remains unwavering—to provide the highest quality mental health treatment to as many people as possible. I’m pleased to announce a new structure that will allow us to do just that.

Effective May 1st, Living Water’s clinical operations have merged with Radial, the practice of our Medical Director, Dr. Owen Muir. Radial is a well-funded healthcare startup founded by the former Co-Founder and Director of PillPack (acquired by Amazon in 2018), with a mission to bring interventional psychiatry to underserved communities. Dr. Muir now serves as Radial’s Chief Medical Officer, and I’ve stepped into the role of General Manager for South Carolina—overseeing our local growth and leading expansion efforts across the region.

One immediate benefit of this merger: we’ve hired two much-needed mental health nurse practitioners to meet current demand, we’re onboarding additional treatment modalities, and we’re actively exploring opportunities to open new locations to serve even more people.

Just as importantly, I will continue to serve as Executive Director of Living Water, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit, which will now focus entirely on fundraising to offset the cost of care for uninsured and underinsured individuals. By separating clinical operations from the nonprofit, we’re also significantly reducing administrative expenses—ensuring that a greater portion of every donation directly supports those in need.

Together, Radial and Living Water are better positioned than ever to raise the standard of mental health care in our community—and to expand access for everyone who needs it.

Gratefully yours,

Benjamin J. Greenzweig
